Jonah and I have felt so crazy busy lately, which we don't do too often. On Jonah's part, it has to do with work and working out final budgets and final schedules and we're all hoping the house will be done by the beginning of November. On my part, its the stupid things I volunteer to do, like plan my ten year reunion (October 5th) SHE KNOWS EVERYONE IN HER CLASS AND IT IS SO FUN FOR ME TO SEE ALL HER HIGH SCHOOL PICTURES AND HEAR ALL HER STORIES AGAIN, do the elementary school's arts competition (October 18th), paint a few paintings, play in the primary program today, AND we have to go to San Fran this week for a work conference, and add that to Jonah getting sick last week and Cam getting sick this week and then I remember why I feel this way. Its all my own fault, so don't think I'm complaining... I'm just apologizing for not updating the blog more often this month!
Luckily, Elsie keeps us delighted constantly, especially now that she's all grown up (or so she thinks) with her solid food devouring, crawling, sitting up, pulling up to standing self. We shaved her head a week ago, and it must be kind of itchy because she's constantly rubbing her stubble up against us, the walls, and even the piano when Ana is practicing. Cam and Ana LOVE her so much and most of their fights lately are over who gets to say, "Baaaaaaaaby Elsie" to her. They've worked out a system on whose turn it is to talk to or play with her, so luckily the fights have subsided for the most part. Elsie eats it up and LOVES those siblings right back. Its so funny to me that kids can be so incredibly goofy with each other, and still have the best time doing it. Elsie's best trick is how she tilts her head to the side when she's trying to look extra cute. Its just something you have to see in person.
Cam is hardly ever sick, but when he is, my whole world falls apart. He's just so darn skinny, that it freaks me out when he won't eat. I tried to just let him listen to his body this time, and he got better after two days. It was a long two days for me, even though he pretty much just slept the whole time he was sick. Oh, and he also carried around the "sick water bottle" (so he wouldn't use anybody else's) and the "throw-up bowl" everywhere he went. He threw up twice, and he was so cute and kept saying, "sorry mommy!" while he was throwing up. Man, it makes me glad for the good health we enjoy.
Cam has been beside himself with happiness because we got my brother Tyler's 40+ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles out of storage!!! Yes, the vintage 1990s TMNT figurines. Cam hasn't even been able to play with all of them yet, there are so many. We keep them at my mom's house, but he gets to "check one out" once a week and bring it home, and it is a sweet deal for him.
Oh, and I found some great costumes at the DI last week. Cam especially liked the bee costume and walked around for awhile saying, "I got a ying-oh!" "Watch out for my YING-OH!" "I'm gonna get you wid my ying-oh!" (That translates to "stinger", fyi).

Ana had her monthly break-down today. She was SO wiggly during the primary program, which wouldn't bother me so much except she was right in front of the piano and kept distracting me. So, she got in trouble for that, and for pulling feathers out of my vintage pirate hat at home (don't worry, its fixed now) and other things that she was doing because she was just so tired today. So, she had a melt down and cried and cried and told me that she hates school because it takes so long to eat her lunch that she never gets to hang out with her friends, and that's why Makayla isn't her best friend anymore (they were best friends on Thursday, and I guess that all changed on Friday). She said she wants to stay home from school and just play with Cam and Baby Elsie and go to friends' houses sometimes. When I asked her how she would learn to do stuff like read and write and etc., she changed the subject. It was humorous and heartbreaking at the same time. We put Cam to bed early and played a board game with her and read her some books and I think she's okay now. Its rough being six. SHE READ A WHOLE CHAPTER OF MAGIC TREEHOUSE AND EVEN GOT WORDS LIKE "SHOULD" AND "EIGHT" WHICH I THINK ARE PRETTY HARD. I DON'T REMEMBER A LOT FROM WHEN I WAS ANA'S AGE BUT I DO REMEMBER THAT WHEN I WAS TOLD TO SOUND OUT A WORD I WOULD ALWAYS THROW AN "R" IN THERE JUST BECAUSE IT SOUNDED GOOD SO WHEN SHE GETS TO A WORD THAT I TELL ER TO "SOUND OUT" IT IS ALWAYS FOLLOWED BY "THAT WORD DOESN'T HAVE AN R IN IT" AFTER SHE HAS GIVEN IT HER FIRST TRY.
Cam had a break down too and said he couldn't go to dinner at Saren's with us because he "was having a hard time" and didn't want to put a shirt on. He asked me to leave him home. I said, "nope. you've got to come". He said, "I can't come. I'm having a hard time. And, I'm busy. I'm busy and I can't come". He cried at Saren's and fell asleep on her bathroom floor.
So, needless to say, all the kids were in bed before 7:30 tonight.

LOVE it. Love you guys. You always make me laugh. Hope Cam's feeling better, and I can't wait to get the two chubs together again, especially since it sounds like Elsie does the exact same thing as Lucy on the cocking her head to the side with a sly smile when trying to look extra cute. Miss you guys.
